On September 20, 2024, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra, Assistant Professor at KIIT Deemed to be University, delivered a pre-conference talk titled “Optimized Event-Based Sliding Mode Control of OWC Wave Energy System” as part of the Speak and Search Lecture Series. The lecture, part of the ongoing DST project titled “Implementation of Artificial Intelligence Based Nonlinear Control Strategy for Oscillating Water Column Prototype” (File No. SUR/2022/000392), focused on enhancing wave energy conversion efficiency through Event-Based Sliding Mode Control (E-SMC). Dr. Mishra discussed the integration of AI-based algorithms to optimize control updates, ensuring system stability and reducing communication overhead, drawing from simulations comparing genetic algorithms and particle swarm optimization.
