Students from School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be university have won 1st and 3rd prize at the Moon Rover Contest on National Space Day 2025, held from 18th to 23rd August 2025 at the Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar. The event was organized to honor India’s landmark Chandrayaan-3 soft landing on the lunar south pole. Student participants with their homegrown lunar rover prototypes, showcased advanced technical skills on navigation, obstacle management, and design creativity, simulating the real challenges of lunar exploration.
Winners were honored by Shri Gandharba Behera, a renowned ISRO scientist and Former Chief Executive, Orissa Remote Sensing Application Centre. Dr. S K S Parashar and Dr. Mano Ranjan Kumar from KIIT was also invited and felicitated by Shri Kapil Jain, Curator and Head of Regional Science Centre Bhubaneswar at the event.
