Associate Professor (I)

Dr. Vikas Kumar Jha is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics Engineering at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, India. He earned his PhD from HBNI, BARC, Mumbai, and specializes in signal processing and the application of AI/ML techniques across healthcare, manufacturing, and related fields. Dr. Kumar has authored more than 30 research papers and holds 10 granted patents. His contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Homi Bhabha Gold Medal and multiple best paper awards. In addition to securing research funding from prominent agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Biotechnology (BIRAC), and MSME, he has also been supported by the Newton Bhabha Fellowship from Coventry University and the Department of Atomic Energy. Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Kumar actively contributes to entrepreneurship by founding and mentoring med-tech startups, while also dedicating himself to guiding graduate, undergraduate, and PhD students in their academic and professional pursuits.
