Sensing & Computing lab
The Sensing and Computing Lab at the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT University, is a dedicated research facility focused on the acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of multi modal sensor data. The lab integrates advanced sensing technologies with state-of-the-art computational tools to support interdisciplinary research in biomedical engineering, signal processing, machine learning, and human-centered computing. Their dedication has enabled the School to attract collaborations with national and international researchers and secure funding from major organizations such as DRDO, SERB, FIST ,DST and several industries.
OBJECTIVE
The Sensing and Computing Research Lab focuses on the development, integration, and evaluation of intelligent sensing systems and computational technologies to solve real-world problems. The lab provides an interdisciplinary platform that combines sensor technologies, embedded systems, IoT devices, signal/ image processing, AI technology, machine/deep learning, and cloud computing. It supports research, prototyping, and experimental studies in areas such as biomedical signal/image analysis, satellite imaging, smart devices, robotics, automation, and cyber-physical systems. The laboratory is equipped with advanced sensors, microcontrollers, data acquisition tools for medical signals, multispectral drone, computing workstations, and software resources to enable hands-on learning, innovation, and collaborative research among students and faculty of different streams.

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, equipped with multispectral imaging capability, is a robust aerial sensing platform widely used in remote sensing, environmental research, and precision agriculture. Its combination of a high-resolution RGB camera and multispectral sensor modules enables the capture of detailed spectral information essential for advanced data analytics and scientific investigation.

Biosignalsplux: Hybrid-8 Channels Multi-Sensor Data Acquisition System.
The lab is equipped with a Biosignalsplux Hybrid-8 multi-sensor data acquisition system, enabling high-resolution recording of EEG, ECG, EMG, PPG, and other physiological signals. This portable wireless platform supports synchronized 8-channel acquisition for biomedical research, cognitive studies, and AI-driven physiological signal analysis.” It supports up to 8 simultaneous sensor channels, enabling synchronized recording of diverse biosignals with high accuracy and minimal noise.
