A team from the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University—secured 1st place in the Bhubaneswar Zonal Rounds of Meshmerize, thereby advancing to the main finals at Techfest IIT Bombay 2025. It was a line-following robot capable of maze mapping during dry runs and optimizing the shortest path during actual runs using onboard memory and sensors.
Also, they have qualified for the Safetronics Challenge by clearing Round 1 (Concept) in the WorkSafe – Building Safer Workplaces category. Safetronics project features a modular, snake-inspired robotic system designed for confined environments with interchangeable modules for sensing, de-clogging, firefighting, and remote safe interventions, supported by a VR-based digital twin for training and robust serpenoid locomotion.
