Biography and academic profile
Israj Ali is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, with over 18 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He received his B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from M. C. K. V. Institute of Engineering (MCKVIE), Howrah, and his M.S. (by Research) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, specializing in Signal Processing. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at KIIT, focusing on an AI-Enabled Edge Computing Framework for Real-Time Anomaly Detection in Synchrophasor-Based Smart Grids. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Edge Computing, Smart Grid Technologies, Signal Processing, Robotics, Automation, and the Internet of Things. He currently serves as Faculty In-charge of the KIIT Robotics Society and has previously served as Associate Dean (Training & Placement), Faculty In-charge (Students' Affairs), and Member of the Industry Engagement Cell. He has also contributed to the Departmental and University Student Counselling Cells. His professional interests encompass interdisciplinary research, robotics innovation, student mentoring, industry–academia collaboration, and technology-driven engineering education.
