The IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) Student Branch Chapter at the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, was officially inaugurated on 14th December 2024. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. Maurizio Bozzi (President, IEEE MTT-S), Prof. Chinmoy Saha (R-10 Coordinator & SIGHT Chair, IEEE MTT-S), Dr. Valentina Palazzi (YP Chair, IEEE MTT-S), Prof. Erin Kiley (WIM & YP, IEEE MTT-S), Dr. Hare Krishna Ratha (Chair, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section), and Prof. N.C. Pradhan (Assistant Professor, CUK).
The chapter’s advisors, Prof. Sudhakar Sahu and Prof. J.R. Panda, along with Prof. Sarita Nanda (Associate Dean, School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT DU) and Dr. Debashis Bandyopadhyay (Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU), welcomed the guests. The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by inaugural addresses and a presentation by Mr. Arunya Paul, Founding Chair, on the chapter’s formation journey.
The unveiling of the official chapter plaque by Prof. Bozzi and the launch of official T-shirts marked key moments. Keynote sessions included:

Dr. Palazzi on “Energy Autonomous Wireless Sensors for Green IoT Applications”
Prof. Kiley on “Building a Career while Building a Community: Opportunities for MTT-S Students.”
Prof. Bozzi inaugurated the IEEE MTT-S KIIT SBC Office at the RF & Microwave Research Lab with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event concluded with valedictory remarks by Mr. Saurav Kumar Yadav (Vice-Chair) and a cultural excursion to the Konark Sun Temple accompanied by the Chair & Vice-Chair.
