The IEEE Workshop on “5-Day Over 5-Week Virtual Bootcamp on RISC-V,” organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Student Branch Chapter at the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, was a comprehensive and skill-oriented program aimed at introducing participants to open-source hardware and processor design. Conducted from 29th March 2025 to 26th April 2025 with weekly sessions every Saturday at 11:00 AM IST, the bootcamp followed a hybrid mode, combining offline sessions at LT-1 with online participation to ensure flexibility and accessibility. The program witnessed the active participation of 30 students, fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment. The sessions were delivered by Mr. Satyabrata Mohanty, Founder of Innotrat Labs Pvt. Ltd., whose expertise provided practical insights into RISC-V architecture and its applications. A key highlight of the bootcamp was the step-by-step exploration of RISC-V fundamentals, instruction set architecture, and hands-on exposure to processor design concepts. The speaker emphasized real-world applications and the growing importance of open-source hardware in modern computing systems.
