Microwave and Antenna Lab

This laboratory is dedicated to providing cutting- edge facilities that attract the future RF engineers to develop next generation products. This lab supports a multipurpose and interdisciplinary working environment not only for the training but also for research related activities. We are now going to develop the state-of-art lab facility like Anechoic chamber for radiation pattern measurement for the students’ research and R & D needs. It offers Microwave & Antenna Laboratory to the B.Tech 5th semester students of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Frequency-wavelength measurement, impedance measurement using Smith’s chart, gain and radiation pattern measurement of X-band horn antenna, coupling characteristics of E-plane, H-plane & Magic Tee, directional coupler are conducted through microwave test benches. Students are free to perform two experiments of their own called open ended experiments related to microwave and antenna. M.Tech program on RF & Microwave Engineering is also offered to strengthen and promote the research on space, defence and other allied ares of applications. It also offers advanced Microwave Engineering laboratory to the M.Tech (RF & Microwave Engineering) students.

Major objectives include encouraging scientific exchanges amongst academia and industry within the field of RF, Microwave & provides research support and consultation for industry and other government organizations. It enhances the awareness of RF/Microwave Engineering to students outside of the field of RF/Microwave.Further,it encourages scientific exchanges amongst academia and industry within the field of RF, Microwave & Antenna by organizing periodical seminars, workshops and conferences with an aim to promote research lifestyle to the student community and to enhance the spirit of research by eminent Professors.
