Write-up on the Event:
The IEEE Day Celebration Week, organized by the IEEE KIIT Student Branch Chapter from 11th October 2025 to 17th October 2025 at the School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, marked a significant occasion dedicated to promoting technological innovation, collaborative learning, and professional excellence among students. A key highlight of this celebration was the “Silicon Minds Ideathon,” an intellectually enriching event designed to inspire creativity and problem-solving skills among participants. This event was jointly organized by the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) Student Branch Chapter, IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) Student Branch Chapter, and IEEE Sensors Council Student Branch Chapter, demonstrating a strong interdisciplinary collaboration within the IEEE community. Conducted on Sunday, 12th October 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Auditorium, Campus-12, KIIT (DU), the ideathon provided a dynamic platform for idea generation and technical discourse. The event was held in an offline mode with Google-based coordination support, ensuring smooth execution and effective participant engagement. A total of 30 enthusiastic students actively participated, bringing forward innovative concepts and engaging in thoughtful discussions centered on emerging electronic and semiconductor technologies. The primary objective of the Silicon Minds Ideathon was to enhance academic knowledge while simultaneously fostering social awareness and outreach through engineering innovation. Participants were encouraged to explore real-world challenges and propose solutions by integrating concepts from solid-state circuits, electronic design automation, and advanced sensor technologies. The event also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary thinking and the role of modern silicon-based systems in addressing global issues such as sustainability, smart healthcare, and intelligent infrastructure. The invited talk segment further enriched the session by providing expert insights into current technological trends and guiding students on transforming ideas into practical implementations. Overall, the Silicon Minds Ideathon emerged as a flagship event of the IEEE Day Celebration Week, successfully nurturing innovation, strengthening technical competencies, and inspiring young minds to contribute meaningfully to society through technology. It reinforced IEEE’s vision of advancing technology for humanity while creating a vibrant academic and collaborative environment within the institution.
