Write-up on the Event:

The School of Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS), IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTTS) Student Branch Chapter, IEEE AP-S and MTT-S Bhubaneswar Chapter, and IEEE AESPC 2025, successfully organized an event titled “IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Member and Geographic Activities (MGA): Meet and Greet Session” on 5th December 2025. The event was conducted with the objective of academic knowledge enhancement, social awareness, and professional outreach. The session was graced by Prof. Debatosh Guha, IEEE Fellow and Professor at the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, Kolkata. Prof. Guha shared his extensive academic and professional experience in the field of antennas, propagation, and microwave engineering, inspiring students and young professionals to actively engage with IEEE technical societies.

The talk highlighted the role of IEEE AP-S MGA initiatives in fostering global collaboration, professional networking, and student development. Prof. Guha emphasized the importance of IEEE membership, participation in technical activities, and contribution to research, innovation, and community service. He also discussed current trends in antenna and propagation research and encouraged interdisciplinary learning to address real-world engineering challenges. The interactive meet-and-greet session enabled participants to engage directly with the distinguished speaker, gain career guidance, and understand opportunities available through IEEE platforms. The event successfully strengthened industry–academia interaction and motivated students toward active involvement in IEEE-led technical and social initiatives.
