Write-up on the Event:

School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT (Deemed to be University), IEEE Antenna Propagation Society (APS), KIIT students branch chapter organized an industry talk delivered by Mr. B. C. Nayak, former chief technical officer (CTO), Reliance JIO in physical mode on the topic “5G Wireless Network Overview and 5G Use Cases” in association with the IEEE Bhubaneswar sub- section from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on 7 th August 2024 in the conference hall of the new building, School of Electronics Engineering, KIIT (DU), Bhubaneswar. Mr. B. C Nayak’s provided the extensive overview on 5G wireless networking systems and its many technical characteristics as use cases. As per the insightful technical information provided by the Mr. B. C. Nayak, 5G can be significantly faster than 4G, delivering up to 20 Gigabits-per- second (Gbps) peak data rates and 100+ Megabits-per-second (Mbps) average data rates. 5G has more capacity than 4G. 5G is designed to support a 100x increase in traffic capacity and network efficiency. 5G has lower latency than 4G. Mr. B. C Nayak’s discussion on “5G Wireless Network Overview and 5G Use Cases” was not only informative but also motivational, inspiring the academic community to leverage 5G wireless network’s operability and its immediate impact on the cutting edge technical developments in the domain of wireless communication and networking systems in the twenty first century. Mr. B. C Nayak was welcomed by the Prof. Sudhanshu Sekhar Singh with a floral Bucky and vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Nirmal Kumar Rout of School of Electronics Engineering.
