Wireless Communication Research Lab
The primary objective of this research Lab is to study of wireless communication system and network architecture based on current 5G standard specifications, that are cost effective, realizable and meet emerging needs for high data rate and reliable communications. 3. 5G New Radio (5G NR), the next generation mobile communications standard from 3GPP, promises gigabit connection speeds, lower latency, enhanced reliability, increased connection density and improved energy efficiency compared to LTE.
RF testing is the first step in the testing process. It ensures that transmit and receive entity of the device under test functions properly. In the test setup, a generator sends a standard compliant RF signal to the transmitting antenna. The device under test has to properly receive this signal. Then the device transmits a signal through the RX antenna back to the analyzer, which verifies the RF signal quality by measuring parameters such as signal power, modulation quality and spectrum emission.
